The second floor, or private garden patio are ideal for weekend brunch, bridal and baby showers, or any private patio reception.
Although we have a bustling neighborhood business, we can set your event on the secluded patio off to the side of Big Bear building enclosed with large flowering garden planters, overhead vines, and knotted trees.
The second floor makes the perfect setting for a fully private space. With plenty of windows, exposed brick walls, and rustic wood paneling, this space is beautiful for all types of daytime events.

Big Bear Cafe is located in a small residential neighborhood in the heart of Washington, DC. It is a historic, brick, 120 year old Victorian commercial townhouse surrounded by cobblestone patios with flowering gardens, trees, and old native grape vines.

CAPACITY:
Because of our commitment to the surrounding neighborhoods and our bustling brunch service, we typically host weekend daytime events in our second floor space. If you are interested in reserving the 1st Street patio, reservations after 2PM are encouraged.
The 1st street patio can host up to 30 guests for a daytime event.
The second floor can host up to 60 for a seated meal, or up to 70 for a cocktail reception.
